This memorial is erected in 1983. It commemortates the stopping of the German forces in this area, on 20 December 1944, by the 3rd Field Artillery Battalion, 9th Armored Division.
One bonze plaque tells the history of the division, the other three shows detailed information about the Combat Command A, Combat Command B and Combat Command R.
On this picture you can see my good friend Carl Shell who was with CCB of the 9th Armored Division.
